How it works

Walking all over the world

Walk to School Month in the UK is part of International Walk to School Month where countries all over the world take part in events and activities throughout October. In 2007, 10 million children from 42 countries walked to school during Walk to School Month.

Living Streets and Walk to School

Living Streets organises the national Walk to School campaign. Walk to School Month is part of this year-round campaign to get children walking to and from school wherever possible.

Living Street's main role in Walk to School Month is to support travel planners, road safety officers and other local authority professionals to organise events and promote the initiative in schools across the country.
