Get involved with Walk to School Month

It’s great that you want to get involved with promoting walking this October!

You will need to register, order resources and then start planning what Walk To School Month activities you’re going to run.

1) The first thing you’ll need to do is to register for this site here. You will then be on our monthly e-newsletter mailing list for further information and support.

2) You then need to order resources for your school (check with your local authority’s School Travel Advisor first to make sure they haven’t already bought materials). Please click here to visit our resources page and download an order form.

3) You will also be able to download our additional free resources pack, which contains the following:

Press release to help with getting media attention
Powerpoint presentation for assemblies
Ideas for events document
Useful facts about walking to school
Summary of the Walk To School campaign to help raise interest and understanding

4) That’s all – just use the above materials to let people know, organise some media interest and profile-raising events, distribute the resources and get walking!

5) Don't forget to get in touch! We love knowing what people have been up to during Walk To School Month, so don’t forget to email us on walktoschool@livingstreets.org.uk with ideas, updates and suggestions.
